Displays
Settings → Displays arranges the screens, and keeps the arrangement for the set that is plugged in. Plug the same monitors in again, in any port, and it comes back by itself. The page has four parts: Arrangement, The screen, The lid and Night light.
Arrangement
Section titled “Arrangement”The canvas draws the screens to scale. Drag one to move it: it snaps to the edges of the others when you let go, and applies then, with no Apply button and no countdown. Click one to pick it for The screen.

Arrangement and The island is on appear with more than one screen, and Forget it once the set has an arrangement. A screen that is off has no place on the canvas; it gets a line under it, “off, and still plugged in”, which is how it is selected and switched back on.
One arrangement per set of screens
Section titled “One arrangement per set of screens”An arrangement is kept for a set of screens. A screen is known by its make, model and serial rather than by its port, so a cable moved to another socket changes nothing. A laptop on its own and the same laptop at a desk are two sets, each with its own arrangement; the lid shut is the same set with one screen off.
A set nobody arranged is left to Hyprland’s auto, so a fresh install pushes
nothing. The shell never writes ~/.config/hypr/modules/monitors.lua: that
file is the fallback, and what you arrange is applied over it at login, after
every reload and after every hotplug.
When a screen goes away, the workspaces that were on it move to the primary screen. If nothing plugged in would be lit, every screen present is switched on.
The screen
Section titled “The screen”The screen picked on the canvas — or under Editing, with more than one:

The On row tells a screen that is off — out of the layout, its workspaces moved away — from one that is dark: asleep, with its workspaces still on it, as it is once the idle timer has switched it off.
The lid
Section titled “The lid”What closing the lid does while another screen is plugged in:

With nothing else plugged in, the lid is left to logind, which suspends. Opening the lid lights the laptop’s screen again, where it was. Under Right now, the page says which panel is the laptop’s and what else is connected.
Night light
Section titled “Night light”Warm the screen turns a warmer colour temperature on through hyprsunset, and Colour temperature sets how warm. It works on the gamma ramp, so screenshots keep their true colours. There is no schedule: it stays on until you turn it off. The same switch is a tile in the control centre.
The other screens
Section titled “The other screens”The island is on one screen. Every other screen gets the two ends of the bar and nothing between them — no island and no panels — and a detail asked for there opens in the island on the primary. The dock is on every screen, and the widgets and the notes on the edges stay on the primary (Widgets on the desktop). A screen plugged in later gets the wallpaper too.
Bit depth is not offered, mirroring copies the primary to every other screen, and the page does not notice a change made from outside while it is open. The rest is under Limitations.
